Chairperson of the 11th International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics Organizing Committee

The Organizing Committee warmly welcomes all friends, colleagues and participants to its 11th International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA), which will be held in Phuket, Thailand during 12-21 November 2017. We are proud to organize this event for the second time in Thailand and especially for this event that will be taken place in the most beautiful island of Phuket.

IOAA is co-organized by the Promotion of Academic Olympiad and Development of Science Education Foundation under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra, Prince of Songkla University, Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology and National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand. The efforts are strongly supported by Ministry of Education, Thailand in the form of financial grant.

The students participating this event will be housed in Duangjitt Resort and Spa, Patong, Phuket, while team leaders will be staying at Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Merlin Beach, Patong, Phuket. The day you arrive in Phuket, a sunny city will be awaiting you on the shore of the Andaman Sea. Phuket is also known as a food and shopper's paradise. Participants can expect a very enjoyable stay, while the IOAA is a platform for friendly competition that you can gain new friends here. We do hope that the forthcoming IOAA will be a rewarding experience for all participants.
